Please join us for a reception welcoming Gary Paul Nabhan, internationally-celebrated nature writer, agrarian activist, and ethnobiologist who works on conserving the links between biodiversity and cultural diversity. Nabhan comes to Columbia on the occasion of his latest book release, entitled "Ethnobiology for the Future," a collection of essays exploring issues of humanity, identity and our attachments to place, flora, fauna, fungi and feasts. Enjoy small dishes featuring hyperlocal, heirloom ingredients and wine in the company of Nabhan, a well-regarded pioneer in local food movement and seed-saving circles. Guests will have the opportunity to hear Nabhan read a selection of his poems about seeds and their sowers in an intimate setting.
