We love South Carolina and everything it has to offer. Some of the best things South Carolina has to offer is the accessibility to fresh local food, talented Chefs, a culture that historically has centered around gathering together over food from low country boils to field tables to front porches, backyard bbq’s and more. Wherever it may be it has brought families, friends and the community together over the years. We want to continue the tradition of bringing the community together over local fresh food and highlighting the talents that reside in our state. We create unique settings with talented chefs in large and small venues.
The first dinner started when founder Vanessa Driscoll returned home from living in Asheville and attended a Sustainable Midlands Holiday Market. Never having met the McClams she walked up to them and said “I want to have dinners on your farm.” Needless to say they thought she was crazy. A couple months later she had joined friend and Chef/Owner of @116 State Ryan Whittaker with City Roots and the first Harvest Dinner launched. Three years later multiple events and partnerships with Chefs have been created and the community continues to join us at our tables.
Our events include, Harvest Dinner Series, Nose to Tail Dinners, Harvest and Art, Farm to Trunk, Bartender Challenge, Oyster and Pig Roast and music events. We host most of our events at City Roots farm the only in town local sustainable organic farm in SC, while also exploring locations in the city with other events. You can book us for private for profit, nonprofit events as well as private parties, receptions, rehearsal dinners and weddings. Join our table and join your community.
